W tej prze­strze­ni, pod czuj­nym okiem artyst­ki tań­ca i badacz­ki ruchu Kasi Witek – rezy­dent­ki Domu Uto­pii – odkry­je­my, że czło­wie­czeń­stwo ist­nie­je jedy­nie w splo­cie z tym, co nie-ludzkie.

Poprzez obu­dze­nie obra­zow w wyobraź­ni nauczy­my się zmie­niać naszą świa­do­mość, pozwa­la­jąc, by cia­ło instynk­tow­ne i odczu­wa­ją­ce mogło w peł­ni się ujaw­nić. W cza­sie warsz­ta­tu będzie­my korzy­stać z tema­tów jak: ruch ewo­lu­cyj­ny oraz nasz wspól­ny ze isto­ta­mi nie-ludz­ki­mi rodo­wód. cia­ło w odpo­wie­dzi na kra­jo­braz, bada­nia per­cep­cyj­ne. Zauwa­ża­jąc wol­nosc, jaka poja­wia się, gdy przyj­mu­je­my swo­ją natu­rę jako isto­ty zwie­rzę­ce, poru­sza­ją­ce się w dia­lo­gu z otoczeniem.

Pro­wa­dzą­ca

Artyst­ka tań­ca Kasia Witek obec­nie dzia­ła pomię­dzy Wiel­ką Bry­ta­nią a Pol­ską. Jej pra­ce cho­re­ogra­ficz­ne obej­mu­ją insta­la­cję, wideo, teatr oraz per­for­mans w ple­ne­rze. Jako twór­czy­ni i per­for­mer­ka zaj­mu­je się tema­ty­ką empa­tii ze śro­do­wi­skiem, a tak­że inte­li­gen­cją cia­ła w kon­tek­ście wspól­no­ty w spo­łe­czeń­stwie. Jej dotych­cza­so­we pra­ce cho­re­ogra­ficz­ne to mię­dzy inny­mi Trąb­ka do słu­cha­nia (2021) w reż. Agniesz­ki Glin­skiej, Baśń o Wężo­wym Ser­cu (2022) (rez. Benia­min Bukow­ski) w Naro­do­wym Teatrze Sta­rym w Kra­ko­wie, Sola­stal­gia (2023), Mane­ki­ny (2024) Ope­ra Wro­cław­ska, Memo­ry Sco­re (2020), one wall of me (2019), The Mat­ter Of the Soul (2018) we współ­pra­cy z artyst­ką dźwię­ku Kat Austen otwie­rał Gre­en­pe­ace Hub na szczy­cie kli­ma­tycz­nym ONZ 2018. Nomi­no­wa­na do nagro­dy Arts Foun­da­tion Futu­res Awards2025 for Dan­ce. Obec­nie reali­zu­je sty­pen­dium badaw­cze KPO Mini­ster­stwa Kul­tu­ry, a tak­że pra­cu­je nad pro­jek­tem „Kan­ta­ten”, któ­re­go pre­mie­ra odbę­dzie się 12 grud­nia 2024 roku w Muzeum Sztu­ki Współ­cze­snej MOCAK.

Absol­went­ka Nor­thern Scho­ol of Con­tem­po­ra­ry Dan­ce, stu­diów z Jasmin Var­di­mon Com­pa­ny w Roy­al Hol­lo­way Uni­ver­si­ty of Lon­don oraz Lon­don Con­tem­po­ra­ry Dan­ce Scho­ol, któ­re ukoń­czy­ła z wyróż­nie­niem. Jest lau­re­at­ką Exit Visa Resi­den­cy w The Pla­ce (2016). Współ­pra­cu­je z Pol­skim Ośrod­kiem Kul­tu­ro­wo Spo­łecz­nym w Lon­dy­nie i jest człon­kiem Chi­sen­ha­le Dan­ce Space.

Abo­ut the Work­shop: Natu­re Moving

Join the Natu­re Moving work­shop, invi­ting you to immer­se your­self in a dan­cing dia­lo­gue betwe­en your body and the natu­ral world. In this spa­ce, under the care­ful guidan­ce of dan­ce artist and move­ment rese­ar­cher Kasia Witek, who is a resi­dent in Dom Uto­pii, we will explo­re the idea that huma­ni­ty exi­sts only in con­nec­tion with the non-human world.

Thro­ugh ima­ge­ry work, we will learn to affect our con­scio­usness, allo­wing the instinc­ti­ve and sen­so­ry body to ful­ly emer­ge. During the work­shop, we will draw on the­mes such as: evo­lu­tio­na­ry move­ment and our sha­red ance­stry with non-human others, the body and the land­sca­pe, and per­cep­tu­al inqu­iry. We will noti­ce the fre­edom that ari­ses when we embra­ce our natu­re as ani­mal beings moving in dia­lo­gue with our surroundings.

For Whom?

The work­shop is open to any­one who wants to deepen the rela­tion­ship betwe­en the­ir body and natu­re and explo­re new dimen­sions of move­ment – regar­dless of age or experience.

Faci­li­ta­tor

Dan­ce artist Kasia Witek cur­ren­tly works betwe­en the Uni­ted King­dom and Poland. Her cho­re­ogra­phic works inc­lu­de instal­la­tions, video, the­atre, and out­do­or per­for­man­ce. As a maker and per­for­mer, she works with the­mes of empa­thy with the envi­ron­ment and the intel­li­gen­ce of the body. Her pre­vio­us cho­re­ogra­phic works inc­lu­de Trąb­ka do słu­cha­nia (2021) direc­ted by Agniesz­ka Glin­ska, Baśń o Wężo­wym Ser­cu (2022) direc­ted by Benia­min Bukow­ski at the Natio­nal Old The­atre in Kra­ków, Sola­stal­gia (2023), Mane­ki­ny (2024) at the Wro­cław Ope­ra, Memo­ry Sco­re (2020), one wall of me (2019), and The Mat­ter of the Soul (2018) in col­la­bo­ra­tion with sound artist Kat Austen, which ope­ned the Gre­en­pe­ace Hub at the UN Cli­ma­te Sum­mit in 2018. Nomi­na­ted for the Arts Foun­da­tion Futu­res Awards 2025 for Dan­ce. She is cur­ren­tly car­ry­ing out a rese­arch grant from the Mini­stry of Culture’s KPO pro­gram and wor­king on the pro­ject Kan­ta­ten, which will pre­mie­re on Decem­ber 12, 2024, at the Museum of Con­tem­po­ra­ry Art MOCAK.
